Irene Ang became a household name in Singapore (and some say Malaysia) as Rosie Phua in Singapore's longest running sitcom Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd and subsequently Phua Chu Kang Sdn Bhd, for which she was awarded Best Comedy Performance by an Actress at the Asian Television Awards.

As CEO of Singapore's first and largest Artiste Management Agency, FLY Entertainment Pte Ltd, Irene was nominated Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and honoree of Spirit of Enterprise and named Top 25 Most Powerful Businesswomen of 2008 by The Executive Magazine.

She earned the reputation of “one of the most engaging stand-up comedy shows of the year” by channelnewsasia.com !

Made an impact as a panel speaker at the Singapore Women's Congress in 2004 that they invited her back as the opening speaker in 2005. In that same year, Irene was also invited to speak at the Global Speakers Summit 2005, organized by International Federation for Professional Speakers and hosted by Asia Speakers Association of Singapore.

In recognition of her passion and influence on various local communities, the National Heritage Board under the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts Singapore also invited Irene to serve as a Board Member and Member of the Media & Publicity Committee for a term of 2 years since Aug 2009, to be involved in various heritage and cultural projects.

For her contribution to the film industry in Singapore, Irene was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award (Movies) at the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2011, organized by Singapore Press Holdings.

She currently volunteers as a steering committee member and mentor for Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) start up Singapore, amongst other entrepreneurial organisation and charities.
